DRAG RACE! 600hp BMW M5 F10 vs Mercedes AMG GTs

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking and welcome on board for another Drag Race episode. Today between two Rear wheel drive cars from Mercedes and BMW. We have the AMG GTs putting out 510HP from its 4.0 l Twin Turbo V8 against a tuned to 600 horse power BMW M5 F10 from its 4.4 l Twin Turbo V8. A little more power for the BMW but less weight for the AMG GT, so who is going to win? Are you ready? Let's go!

the track is not smooth, the cars are jumping on the waves and this makes it very difficult to accelerate the cars

Both absolutely stunning cars. It’s unbelievable that a 4-door saloon can perform that way. I figure a standard M5 puts out that kind of power without any form of tuning. Mercedes sounds awesome.

Both drivers were asleep at the arm drop lol. At least it made it a fair race. Very closely matched cars.

1:54 to 2:04 is a great comparison of the gear boxes from the sound alone. The Benz sounds like a light switch being flipped, while the Bimmer clearly puts in much more effort to upshift, in my opinion.

Good thing BMW fitted the F90 M5 with xDrive. The F10 M5, being rear-wheel-drive only, struggles for traction.

Benz all the way, but this was still really good match up. Surprising to see the GT hook up as well as it did.

I love it. This is one of the very few channels shows the important stuff first and gets straight to the races.

Even better that these were stock cars, tuned cars aren’t always a good comparison because one tune can be more aggressive than another.

The M5 driver seemed to come off the throttle in the race but kept his foot in, in the second. The F10 was my dream for a long time…

bmw is just incredible the fact that the m5 weights like 660 pounds more and is a 4door makes it even crazier. and i love the f10 its timeless ive got one by myself :)
