Sometimes you get that feeling that some type of clothes just don’t look right on you, and is very unflattering to your body. I think this is because of three things, cut, clinginess, and volume. So let’s talk about it.

Thank you for this positive spin in “dress according to your body type”.
We’re creators with our fashion choices, we shouldn’t aim to look all the same shape ❤

You inspire me lots, Mustards ❤

just watched the body type series on her channel the other day, just perfect timing for this video. Also love the concept of not always wanting to balance everything out of your body shape.

It’s incredibly ridiculous that people critique your photos on social media!! 😓 No one asked for their opinions to begin with!! 😒 Like you said, people are so focused on looking “proportionate” or like an “hourglass figure”, and it’s a very outdated / conformist / narrow way of thinking.
You are absolutely gorgeous and artistically inspiring, I love the way YOU approach getting dressed, and I would really appreciate hearing more of what you have to say / suggest on this topic! ❤❤ Xox!

I personally go for all skintight and I think the all-black outfit with the short skirt is my favourite on you too! I've realised through your video that all my favourite outfit combos are because they highlight the waist. The whole pear/apple/hourglass/whatever thing never really made sense for me because I don't really fit into any of the categories. So it was much more helpful and interesting to hear your take on how certain clothing types have an effect on how your body looks :)

As someone who has an extremely similar body type I love these videos! I spent a huge part of my teenage and adult years trying to camouflage my 'undesirable' features because teenagers are cruel. Now as I reach my 30s I've realised that those are some of my personal favourite features about myself so I'm too busy making it everyone's problem. Thanks for fueling the fire 🔥

I love your advice and outfits - would also love to see a range of examples on different body types. Thank you for the work and grace you share.

Actually, I don't think you are pear-shaped, you look like an hourglass because your shoulders balance your hips. In a pear shaped person, the hips would look much larger/bigger than the shoulders.

High key Jenny you have the type of body I’d make paintings and sculptures of—you are gorgeous!! Your lithe frame, angles and long limbs are very unique 💖 I hope it doesn’t come off weird I’m speaking from a mind that loves to draw and paint and from an artist perspective I pay you these honest compliments

oooh, I have a new rabbit hole for you, now, that you mention the body types ❤ have you heard of the Kibbe body types and the Kitchener essences?
Its all about how fabric drapes around your body, so you feel comfortable in your own skin and know which cut and fabric, stiffness and so on makes which proportion and effect. So nothing about looking like everybody else or 'balanced' but comparing yourself within your own body, not to others. And the Kitchener essences are more about the vibe you give off, from mostly your face, your gesture and mimic. Its so interesting and helped me A LOT to understand my body and why I look completely strange and off in some clothes. It lead me to experimenting more with various styles and I feel waaaay better in my skin now. I look more like 'me' - I also highlight my shoulders, long arms, long legs, big hands and every roundness I have. More draping, nothing stiff...😎I could talk about it all day..
Aly Art and Ellie Jean Roden make awesome YouTube videos about that. I typed myself as a Soft Dramatic, maybe you are a dramatic too? :)

Absolutely love this video Jenny. I hate when people say you should do this or that to look this way or another. I personally agree with you on the oversized style looking so cool although I am basically the opposite of your body type. Some people might think I sometimes look like a leprechaun, but then again - I think I would make a good one 🤷‍♀️. Style is so much about how you want to express yourself. I think it’s time to stop dressing for others, it really should be about who we want to be.

Your vids completely changed my perspective on how I go about dressing my body! Let’s celebrate the unique and quirky aspects, and yes whatever you want to celebrate can be different for everyone! Thank you so much and I would love another video on patterns☺️

My god you're so indescribably fine, it really helps your self image perspective knowing those that one may think couldn't find something wrong on their body have the same problems with themselves. Looking from the inside out seems so hazy in comparison to the opposite. btw you're seriously one of the most beautiful people ive ever seen, I hope you remember to feel that way :)

Great Video! But: wide hips? I doubt it 😅

i usually go for tight top/loose bottom or vice versa but other than that i go for all loose and not all tight very often. i love having my shoes or socks being a highlight and i love a good hoodie/coat to pop out, sometimes a mask or hat. I love having good sunglasses and jewelry too, specifically multiple necklaces and rings. I like having no colour or all aggressive colour and mismatching laces or mixing styles (ex: vintage feminine with combat style) and I adore having an incredibly unique piece (I have balaclavas that have bunny like ears). Ive never been one for trends so I tend to float around many styles.

It‘s all spot on, Jenny! I think you look outstanding in every outfit you‘re wearing here. I just love all your clothes, and they flatter you so individually!❤❤

You are very dramatic, sharp and narrow. I think anything that reflects that in some kind of way will look good on you. your advice in this video is good for someone with a similar build but will not work for example for some who is more rounded and petit. But I completely agree we should highlight our qualities instead of hiding them and label them as imperfections.

‘I’m gonna own it and be happy with what I’ve got’ - yes Jenny! I love that you are actually leading by example - you genuinely believe this and I love your style! Years ago I began accepting certain features I have but I still struggle to dress in a way that accentuates the features I like. It’s always hit and miss 😂. This and your other videos on this topic are very helpful frameworks - thank you!!

I love this kind of videos, because it is always nice and refreshing to be reminded that bodies come in all shapes an sizes, and we are allowed to show them off even if our bodies (and/or our aesthetics) don't align with what society defines we should or should not wear.

I love your tips! I feel like we don’t experiment enough with our wardrobe always going for what the trends tell us and we end up with clothes we don’t feel great in it 😢
Thank you for this! I love tight tops and large bottom ( for now it’s what I’m comfortable with, because I’m a rectangles shape I’m a bit self conscious of my shoulders and also because I was always told my waist wasn’t curve enough in middle school 😢)
