0:33 this mask is a western fantasy of an Oni/ninja/samurai. This style of mask was only used in the theatre to depict a scourn woman but because it’s such a cool and menacing look it’s been adopted to all kinds of media. If you would have asked Japanese people in the 1950’s to draw an Oni, this style would have never come up in the drawings.

I've read there is an expression "son of an Oni" which means a child looks nothing like the mother or father. I can't confirm it though.

I had a dream about this creature who had a confrontation with another creature who was even uglier than Oni. Oni pulled the ugly creatures tongue out with his claws then came to rest on the back porch of my house. I hid inside terrified of being discovered. Then he disappeared and thee house rocked from side to side as if there was an earthquake
