I live in BC as well. Catching pokemon while on hikes is a way of life here. LoL

With that said, if Niantic wanted people to get outdoors and enjoy nature we should see some awesome rare spawns out there in nature.

Singapore last year 2 days before there safari zone. A blue flabebe popped up and literally hiked up a mountain in the dark in 88 degree weather. Was drenched in sweat but caught that sucker. What a journey.

I got a shiny squirtle in a beautiful forest in the UK. I named it drizzle as it was raining when I caught it!

Spent a week for a hockey tournament and it was -20° commonly that was outside the rink and the funniest part is the ice rink was actually warmer than the outside

Because of my obsession with spinning every pokéstop in existence (aka getting highest sightseer badge) it is not uncommon for me to go very long distances to spin everything. The longest hike I've done was a 54km walk on country roads that I completed in 12 hours. I added 89 pokestops to my sightseer badge that day, about 1.64 pokestop per kilometer on average.

I heard rumors that Hawlucha would spawn in Deep South Texas. I was on vacation in the Davis Mountains and hunted for hours. Service was spotty at best, then found him on top of a climb! His name? Davis.
