'Call no man your father' is used here not against your biological father or lineage with a bloodline but from a superiority standpoint. When reading it in context it's revealing we are all brothers and sisters and there is nobody on this earth who is superior to someone else. There are fathers, masters, teachers etc who may have more knowledge but we are all brethren. No holy father or holy master only One which is in heaven.

Hello, I am a former catholic and I understand when less informed Christian’s make the statement referencing Matthew 23:9 “call no man father.” But verses like Hebrews 12:9 and others like the gentlemen stated it is evident that we can call “father” to those in the natural and spiritual. But why did Jesus make that statement? The Bible cannot contradict itself or it would be flawed. Instead, we have to let the Bible interpret itself. I will begin my study on this “father” topic but from that passage the contents plainly displays that Jesus is referencing to the Pharisees. Not for little Billy to call his dad Jerry in fear of violating Matthew 23. That is ridiculous, I too get bothered when “Christians” take aim at others when they themselves need to reflect on the Word. It is one thing to spread the Gospel and it’s another thing to aim at others. Anyone who has a simple basis in catholic apologetics would have torn that apart. Grow and strengthen the body of Christ. Not create confusion and strife with those that you’re trying to reach.

The lesson from this is: Don't listen to and follow the protestants' interpretation of the Bible for they also don't have the same interpretation because God has not given them authority to do so but only the leaders of the Catholic Church, the true Church of God.
