I think you did a good job setting realistic expectations. Increased your authority in my view. Most courses just to sell themselves make very unreal promises and set expectations so high that it is almost impossible not to be discouraged. Especially for an individual like me who is not willing to sacrifice more than 7 hours to German each week. I will be joining smarter german next month.

Sir, in my school... They preferred to teach us auf Deutsch rather than saying it in English. Ja, sometimes they do talk in English but only to express something that really need for us to understand... I'm actually not into that... But that's what they think will work better....

@21:00 🤣🤣 That's preciously what I absolutely despise (and that's putting it mildly :p ) about my current german class. Can't blame them anyway. This was a 3-month long university-subsidised course for just $70 (the equivalent of INR).

I'm a PhD student (Joint PhD from IISc Bangalore and IIT Bombay) from India who plans to do a PostDoc in German or Swiss Universities. I'll graduate within the next (hopefully :p) 1.5 years. During this time, I plan to go from a1 to c1.

I get the equivalent of $450 a month as my PhD stipend😪. So I've been saving for the last 2 months now for SG. It'll take me another 2-3 months to save enough to buy the A1 to C1 Bundle + Grammer + the annual membership of LanguageGym meetups. So I'll see you in your class then after some time. 😀
