I just wanted to drop a note to say a huge thank you for your incredible German A1 and A2 crash course. It has greatly improved my German speaking abilities and helped me see the beauty of the language. You're an outstanding teacher! 👍

I'm a "Diplom-Germanist" who lived and worked in Germany many years. I sadly don't get to Germany as often as I used to, so my German is a little rusty. Don't know how I ended up on your A2 course on YouTube, but I am enjoying the refresher immensely.Your grammar lessons are excellent, and the cultural tidbits and humor you weave into everything are gold! It's like I am laughing at inside jokes only those of us who have lived in Germany would understand. Ich bedanke mich! Gut getan!

First off: Your humor is amazing. I love it. I'm always giggling while I listen.

Second: THANK YOU this whole video was absolutely Fantastic. I'm currently studying präteritum and you definitely told me things that I had not found anywhere else... I will be coming back to this video so much.
Once I finish the course I'm in - I'm definitely converting to Herr Antrim 100%

I'm the type of language learner where I can pick up languages by ear fairly quickly, but heck if I can repeat what was said or explain the grammar, such has been the case with German. This course has been great to actually get me on the path of speaking rather than just listening and understanding the language in depth. Thank you!!

Just watched all of you German A1 and A2 in three days! Really great, straight forward instructional content!

When I start a new language I like to do a wide sweeping study over the entire 1A and 2A grammar to learn sentence structure. I obviously don't learn everything during that time, but learn to have an abstract concept of how the language is structured. During that time I write out every piece of relevant grammatical information for the language and tape it to the wall in my room.

This allows me to have a map of knowledge to refer to. I think writing out all of the grammar this way is tedious, but one of the best ways to understand the building blocks of the language (which is why I do it first).

From there I try to use speaking programs, learn frequency lists, use AI for conversation, and communicate with natives. I don't focus on any vocabulary at first, and try to absorb most of it through listening and reading. Sentence structure is the most important thing to me, everything else builds from that.

German is going to be my fourth language. Hoping to make the move from the USA to Berlin by the end of the year! Trying to learn as much as I can before then!

I know it's been a year but I just wanna say thank you so much. My German Teacher stopped her classes due to personal cases and I cannot afford other German Classes out there. This channel is helping me a lot. So thank you so much again.
