Dirk making 94 out of 97 total free throw attempts in the series against OKC and Miami is actually insane for any position let alone a power forward

“Looking back on this 13 years later, maybe they weren’t faking coughing at all, but actually choking.” I started literally choking 😂😂

Man, I loved this. I was laughing so hard at the Kidd jabs. Dirk deserved this. As a fan in Dallas, we wanted the Championship for Dirk more so than for us and the city. Great video!

As a Pacers fan, seeing Dirk win with Dallas was like how I’d imagine it would’ve been like seeing Reggie Miller win one with us.

2011 Mavs Title run WAS THE BEST Title run I have ever seen or heard about!! It gives me chills looking back on those days...I was 27 years old and just had my first daughter. Ill never forget 2010-2011.

Moral of the story: PRACTICE YOUR FUCKING FREE THROWS

This run was incredible because the teams they were up against were the best of the best and had no significant injuries. Mavs had Caron Butler injured the entire playoff run too. I believe he was their 2nd leading scorer.

My girlfriend at the time surprised me with Game 5 tickets of the clincher in the WCF vs OKC and then again in game 4 of the Finals vs Mia. It was magical

I’m not embarrassed to say I cried when they finally won it in 2011. I remember every heartbreak. The robbery in 2006. The great collapse of 07. To watch that team of journeymen led by the legendary German knock off one super star after another all the way to the first “super team”. It was the greatest run I ever remember watching and I’ll never forget the emotion of watching those final seconds tick away on game 6 and seeing that confetti fall. Every Dallas fan in the world wanted it more for Dirk than anyone else. More than ourselves more than our city. He was the most selfless and humble baller that ever walked the hardwood. It’s a shame that other stars of the game never came to big D to team up with the big German. Always think about what could have been if just one legit player had picked Dallas and Dirk to run with. I’d give anything to see prime Dirk with prime Luka. They would have dominated the league.

Dirk made a lot of superstars cry in 2011. Amazing win for the team!

One of the most impressive is an understatement. Next to the rockets 95 championship, and the Detroit 04 championship, most folk did not think Mavs had a chance to win

Dirk felt absolutely unstoppable during the 2011 playoffs. It was one of the most epic redemption stories in NBA history. His numbers weren't mind-blowing, but he was so clutch and dangerous that it felt like he was averaging 40ppg. He was unguardable.

That was very good. Dirk was throwing Bosh around like a rag doll in that series. And Marion... whooooff, he defended LeBron as good as anyone has ever done - reminiscent of Andre Iguodala in 2015.

A few things:

In the Warriors series where they were the 8th seed and Dallas was the 1 seed, the Warriors' coach was Don Nelson, who coached Dirk for a decade. He knew how to lock Dirk down.

In the Thunder Series, the Thunder had James Harden coming off the bench.

The Corey Brewer game against the Lakers should never be overlooked.. Gotta give that man his credit. Was insane and unpredictable.
