More and more people are eating vegan foods and living a vegan lifestyle. But what would happen if everyone in the world switched to a plant-based diet and cut out meat and dairy? What impact could it have on the planet and on climate change?

yo they miss out the part where about 70% of soy production is fed to livestock, only about 6% is turned into human food

I'm disappointed that this video didn't answer the question in its title.

Majority of soy is produced for animal feed.

Almonds take a lot of water, but animals need way more. So even then, almonds are still better.

i hate how they portray a vegan diet with vegetables and fruits. we eat other stuff too. vegan burgers, pizzas, stuff that look and taste jaw dropping.

I'm so happy that this message is finally coming to the mainstream!! Cut down on animal products!!!

Almond production require a lot of water, BUT less than meat, forgot to mention that, even if almond was the meat substitute (it's not) it would still lower the impact of climate change...

There is any version of this video in portuguese? I wish that could share it with my country.

I don't think I can completely go vegan but I will definitely try to minimise the amount of meat I eat regularly

Err around 90% of soy production is for animal feed but yeah blame the vegans for deforestation 🤦 also almond milk uses a lot of water compared to other dairy alternatives BUT IT USES AROUND HALF that of dairy milk.

While well-intentioned, this video doesn't answer the question in the title, and includes some very incorrect information.

It is completely irresponsible to blame deforestation of the Amazon on vegans because they eat soya protein! The causes of deforestation are complex but are certainly driven by international demand for animal feed crops, oil crops (ironically for "green" biofuels), forestry products and of course oil exploitation. Quoting NASA "In the Amazon, industrial-scale cattle ranching and soybean production for world markets are increasingly important causes of deforestation, and in Indonesia, the conversion of tropical forest to commercial palm tree plantations to produce bio-fuels for export is a major cause of deforestation on Borneo and Sumatra."

Hey! to everyone watching this video, thanks for taking interest! I know there are many doubts in our minds after watching this, so here are three main professional documentaries that you should follow up with if you want to clear some of those doubts and start on an informed track:

1.- "Cowspiracy" this documentary further elaborates on the effects of animal agriculture in the environment and answers some myths like "Cows will go extinct if we stop eating them".

2.- "What the Health" exposes the way the traditional food system and pharmaceutical industries may not be the best way to continue consuming for an optimum quality of life

and

3.- "Game Changers" shows how with a balanced plant based diet a lot of athletes around the world are crushing competitions and having a good quality of life

and of course because veganism would not be veganism if not for attempting to end the exploitation of all non human animals: "Earthlings" is a must watch to go into the everyday lives of these animals we consume daily.

again, thanks for taking interest in the world, if you take the step forward it is important that you do so, always taking care of yourself, remember "you can't offer water on an empty glass"!

💚.

So less people dying means what? People will still need a place to live until their death they still need food. Who's transporting this food? What is the global impact on that? This didn't answer anything but raised more questions.

"If everyone ate a vegan diet with lots of fresh fruit and veg..."

I'm all for increasing people's access to fresh fruit and veg. I suspect a vegan diet can be healthier for people, but that for that it does need to be balanced.

Let's all go Vegan because going Vegan is the most powerful way to save our planet and live an ethical life. The innocent animals raised by us are kept in very bad conditions and treated like non living objects. Let's revive the fact that we humans are good children of GOD by saying no to meat and dairy and going Vegan. OM Shanti 💖💖💖💖

This is probably a really silly question as I'm really stupid. But if we stop eating cows, wouldn't there be more cows ? And more methane?
