Winter Weather Advisory to take effect at 9 p.m.

***A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR DODGE, FOND DU LAC, JEFFERSON, OZAUKEE, SHEBOYGAN, AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES FROM 9 P.M. WEDNESDAY TO 9 A.M. THURSDAY. 2-4" OF HEAVY WET SNOW IS EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS NEAR 6". TRAVEL WILL BE DANGEROUS WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF POSSIBLE.​​***

Our next winter storm is approaching, and just like most prior systems this season, we're going to see primarily rain here in Milwaukee. We've seen a few lake effect snow showers already this afternoon, but look for the precipitation associated with the storm system to arrive after 8 p.m. this evening. Locations north of Milwaukee will see a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain through the night with 2-5" of snow possible. Mainly rain, with snow mixing in at times, is likely in Milwaukee and locations south, with around an inch of slush possible. Scattered rain and snow showers continue Thursday with little additional accumulation expected.
