Your videos are so professional, so calm and above all so informative. Thank you for your hard work - it makes life easier for us.

Hey what's up my fellow Webster alum! I just picked up an H8 and a Lumix G95... stoked to get my first product at a gig in Nashville in a couple weeks!

Just wanted to let you know that when there is a zoom in on the camera the colour grading is disabled. But to be honest I prefer the look without the colour grading. Great vid as always!

Your voice is very deep and rich, which makes your videos very watchable. Keep up the good work.

As purely an amateur in the same scenario, I would use the Wireless Go II with the Interview GO handheld adapters recording straight to the transmitters. It would be the easiest way with no wires. You wouldn't be able to listen via headphones, but I would isolate noise, if required, in DaVinci Resolve (Studio). However, I appreciate the quality would not be at the same level as your set up. I'll look out for the interviews.

Well done. I’ve used the H8 a lot for home recording, but never in such a challenging environment, so your thought process is helpful. I wouldn’t have thought of taking the line out to a cell phone camera to assist in editing.

What product did you use to interface the line-in to your phone?

Love my H6, too, as a mixer and 6ch-recorder, though, there is one detail, which would make me consider the F-series: these devices also feature a time code, which can help later combining and editing in video editors like Davinci Resolve.
I'm still looking for some elegant way to add and sync a time code for offline-merging, using e.g. 2x ESP32 (which could sync via their Wifi-now networking mode, without cabling across a room), where the camera and the recorder dedicate one track for the TC.

What about a rode wireless go that'd be even smaller form and it can be used with a phone?

I went real bargain basement for the couple of times I've done live interviews. A couple of mobile phones (cell phones for you folks), one on me, one for the interviewee, and a boya levalier on me, and either another boya one on them, I've a cheap usb Bluetooth levalier that works ok, or I've a usb mic I used hand held.
Phones, boyas and usb mic I had around, and the usb mic was about £15 on Amazon.
Edited in Audacity and it worked fine. Not amazing, but perfectly acceptable.

Hey! I loved the H6 and upgraded to the H8 for the cleaner preamps. Unfortunately my H8 has this intermittent squeaking sound that will randomly drop in and ruin recordings. Can be heard while monitoring when it happens. After I updated to their latest firmware, the issue was reduced quite a bit but it's something your assistant can watch out for. Have fun at NAMM!
