The 1, 177 veteran battleship crewmembers were the real loss. The Arizona itself was already obsolete and not even fast enough to escort the fleet aircraft carriers. But those 1, 177 sailors could have been the cadre for the new class of fast battleships coming on line, starting with the North Carolina and South Dakota.

I seriously need to watch this again. Once caught it on TV and left it on. It's definitely miles above Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor.
