Instead of bouncing to audio, you can automate de “send” volume to the delay bus so then you can have the tail of the delay clean. And you can manipulate it better, think so.

Bro Valhalla delay literally has both reverb and distortion built in their delay and much more, it is also sidechained to the main vocal automatically.

Well. In my opinion, making something sound professional is more about understanding that both techniques have a time and place. Getting technical and sidechaining the compressor, adding saturation, that's all cool but doesn't make you professional.

Side-chaining, bouncing and chopping seems like a lot of back-end effort. I always front-load the labor and automate my delay throws.
