DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Review - The BEST Camera for Vlogging and Traveling?

Показать описание

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera was introduced last year, bringing a new level of freedom and production creativity to the market. It is one of the only devices out there where the term "pocket" accurately reflects its true nature regarding portability. Top this with a 1-inch sensor size, a built-in gimbal, a nice bright adjusting screen, long battery life with the possibility of extension, and boosted audio performance when using it with the DJI Mic 2. Are we looking at the best traveling/family/vlogging camera out there?

Finally ❤ I was looking for someone showing the kind of material I want to shoot and so happy to see it’s all possible with this camera! Thank you

What a coincidence - I heard you talking about the Osmo Pocket 3 on your podcast with Nino a week after I received my own OP3, after reaching the same conclusion as you did. This little camera is nice to take with you, and holding it upright while taking 16:9 videos is the best. For years I wanted the smartphone makers to realize that embedding a sensor in this way would make so much sense - and then held an Osmo Pocket in my hand for the first time and it was a great experience from the first minute on. Hope you are doing a "pro" and review of the thing, would be very nice to see what an experienced guy like you can do with it professionally.

nice review i bought it after this review.

However When my pocket 3 camera screen is unfolded, it makes a strange sound when you press the edge of the screen in the left side of the screen. It's like the screen is a bit loose at that side and that's why it makes a clicky/squeaky sound everytime you push on the left side.

Does your make some kind of a sound if you push the display down on the left side when the screen is unfolded?

What is the quality of photos when taken in a low light setting?

Excellent review... Thanks

I think best is a combo

DJI Pocket 3 for low light and an action camera for day.

I have insta 360 Ace Pro and Pocket 3. A killer combo

One other thing I think could be improved is a variable aperture. Sometimes you might want more depth of field or in bright sunlight, you have to use an ND filter if you don't want choppy motion.

I do like the thought of just recording SOOC for a change.

Love this review Johnnie. Especially since I know where you are coming from, as a "traditional" camera user with diverse background in genre.
Also love I got to take a glimpse at your family, -answers a question in my head why you love Japan. :)
Are you going to do a review on the "pro" features and pro use of this camera?

I bought the creator kit a week ago...haven't used it yet, but looking forward to taking it on a test run soon.

Great review. I use mine alongside my mirror less and find it very useful. I actually used 3 second clips on a couple of commercial shoots and sold another project just based on a ten-second clip. My only wish is a semblance of weather protection.

Love my pocket 3 for trips, its better then bringing my bulky mirrorless camera.

Is there a way to take timelapse video, but periodically press the shutter to start recording video, then resume the timelapse once you're done recording? Does anyone have a feature like this?

Just got this camera. Such a small package with my X100VI

Should I wait for a possible dji osmo pocket 4 or should I just buy this pocket 3 already? A good videocamera for vlogging or just traveling is really what I need. I have a gimbal for my smartphone, the osmo mobile 5 and also a setup so that I can have a wireless lavalier microphone but is is such a hassle to setup. There is alot of cables and the setup get's pretty big. I've been looking att the pocket 3 for a while but can't decide if I want to go for it. It's the only type of camera I miss in my range of gear, I have a mirrorless camera for my stills, dji mini 2 drone, and gopro hero 11 black for action footage.

Why I want to wait is to see of dji can add some weather protection for the possible pocket 4, the pocket 3 seems so fragile but I might be wrong.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is the best camera for singles and family. It is easy to use while producing the best 4K 120FPS image quality comparing to any of these big and heavy mirrorless camera.

Not sure how you would have the camera get rid of the bobbing so you don't have to "duck walk"... If the the camera is moving up and down, the footage will move up and down...

Hi Johnnie - great review as usual and Japan looks amazing! Question: to my eye footage from the DJI Pocket seems over-sharpened - are there options to reduce the digital sharpening?
