The DJI Pocket 3 is a Special Camera | 6 Month Review

The DJI Pocket 3 is not new but after spending 6 months using it for my work on this channel, has it kept up with the initial hype of it's release? In this video I'll take you across the world to show you my complete thoughts behind the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 in a mixture of vlog and review. I wanted to show off the capabilities of this camera in real time rather than sitting behind a desk and telling you my thoughts. What better way to show how good this camera is for vlogging than to just make a vlog?

I hope you enjoy and I'd love to know your thoughts on the DJI Pocket 3

This is exactly the type of review I feel is beneficial to the general public. A bunch of real world long term tests in different environments. Not just a spec sheet. I just received mine today and I’m so excited to begin using it. : )

Dude, I just found your videos today and I’m now on a binge. They are so refreshing to watch! A lot of the channels I used to watch that made content similar to this have now transitioned into more sensational content that only plays to the algorithm. While I respect their business decision as full time YouTubers, it does make me sad when the content I subscribed for is no longer a priority as they change. One creator I requested old style vlogs of replied to my comment saying “those videos just don’t get views”. Anywho, i digress, it doesn’t really matter what i think lol- but i just wanted to say, thanks for making content like this that’s so down to earth. Regardless of what your journey ends up looking like on the platform, i really enjoy sitting back and watching engaging content like this!

The image at 10:40 is one of the best images from Torres Del Paine I've ever seen. That's magical, you have really captured the essence of this place.

Idk if it was intentionally done but when you pulled up your jacket zip is cut the music and sounded like when a DJ stops a song suddenly 👍🏽 👌🏽

I’ve been using the pocket three for about four months now and I am amazed that it punches way above its price range. Long as you have enough light the quality of the video is terrific. In low light it’s not terrible but it certainly ain’t the Sony a7s4.
But the best thing about the pocket three is the stabilization… I can go running and it’s smooth as butter.

We absolutely love the pocket 3. It has solved so many issues with our vlogging and definitely a lot of our professional work. It's just easier and let's you focus on other stuff. Of course it's not perfect and photos it takes isn't very good but for a clogging camera. It's excellent.ty for sharing!

I have had the Pocket 1 since launch, then got the Pocket 2. Still use the Pocket 1 often because I prefer the focal length, but those two cameras have taken me around the globe more than once. I also take a Sony RX100 VII for stills, but do lots of travel video on the Pocket cameras. I look forward to adding the Pocket 3 to my kit eventually but there are always so many other important things that swallow money, so I need to wait.

The whole Pocket form factor and size are perfect for my needs. The gimbal works so much better than EIS on other cameras.

My Osmo Pocket 3 started having issues with the Depth of Focus/Field. I've checked the PRO settings and have configured it to either Single, Continuous, & Product Showcase, but the shot stays blurry in all three modes. I tried tapping on the subject on the screen but it stays blurry. I have to angle my OP3 upwards then slowly bring it down to shoot a clear video, but after a few seconds, it gets blurry again. I tried resetting my OP3 back to Factory Settings, but the problem still persists. Love the cam, but this blurry issue is so frustrating! Any assistance to this matter would be absolutely helpful!

Hey Alex! Thank you so much for this, this is exactly what I needed. On the run, real-life use for filming in non controlled environment. Probably the most valuable review I've seen so far! I just had a question about switching between modes, which you kind of answered, but got me super curious:

How much do you find yourself changing White Balance, or do you set it to auto?
And, how often do you find yourself taking off the ND-lens?

I tend to spend most of my time recording in day light and occasionally low-light (head-lamp) environment. But it happens that I go in-doors multiple times a day, like you did on and off the plane/car, maybe inside a tent, e.t.c.

That would help me stay prepared and aware during the transitions between these environments when I take it out on first run on the 20th of May!

Thank you again! Fingers crossed, that you'll see my comment =)!
