it seems other than having more control in post their almost equivalent. From shooting on mine, as long as your actually using white bal/exposure/shutter ect. correctly there's no difference to the human eye. just my opinion.

First of all I don't own a BMPCC4k yet (waiting for one for some while now)
I downloaded the files and played with them for a bit.
Color grading is brilliant as expected.
I see a very subtle change in image tint towards more magenta between Q0 and 12:1 while viewing in Resolve and the sharpening artifacts are seriously more pronounced in YT than in Resolve - this needs more testing, but it doesn't look like a weak point at this time.
The speed of playback is amazing.

I compared these clips to some EPIC MYSTERIUM-X old footage done in similar weather and lighting conditions. The RED footage was 120fps conformed to 25fps @ISO800 172 shutter 5120x2160 5:1 RAW
The BMPCC4k seems to have slightly better image quality than the RED EPIC in both sharpness and noise. The RED does com off a bit more filmic though.
And another thing, although the RED Epic footage has more flexibility in terms of raw parameters, the clips in my comparison were far from maximizing the dynamic range in order to test the limits of both sensors. Skin tones seem accurate on both cameras, maybe a slight more tone detail on the RED in the shadows.

This needs more testing but I would venture in saying that for the price, nothing really comes close to the bang for the buck that Blackmagic has brought to the table, yet.

super nice test : cool music and porcelain white skin for delicate skin tone color test, your best test until now, one suggestion : she could hold a resolution chart or move back in the branches so we can check sharpness because the branches in the background are too far behind to be in focus and check sharpness on the branches. thanks

Had no idea Braw even uses more sharpening (look at the halos around her jacket) than ProRes on this camera... :(

I just got done messing with pro res hq files and braw 8:1 files I’m not a big color grader at all even tho braw has more flexibility I kinda like hq was more easier and I did light adjustments and got a look I liked faster than trying to edit braw
