Pick the rubric from the Patient’s language - Series 3
(Patient’s versions, incidences from his past life, their analysis and corresponding rubrics)
Hello everyone…
WELCOME to Students’ Homeopathy
And let’s learn together…
As, you all know we have started a new series of learning, i.e., “Pick the rubric from Patient’s language”, in which we are discussing the original versions or languages of patients, as exactly narrated by them in our clinic or OPD.
Also, apart from converting these narrations to appropriate rubrics, we are discussing their analysis or interpretation.
In part-2 of this series, we have discussed 6 of such versions and in this part, we will discuss……… more patient’s versions or narrations and their interpretations.

Patient’s version-11:
Mr A- Since my student life, I enjoy leadership. During my college days, I was elected twice as the college secretary. Now also I am contesting for the post of ward councillor.
Dr- Why are you so interested in leadership or getting a position? You told; you do not want money rather you are spending lots of money from your own pocket for the benefit of others. Then, what do you get from it?
Tell me clearly, tell me your inner thoughts, it’s very necessary for homoeopathic prescribing.
Mr A- Actually, when I do good or help people, it creates a good image in public; people talk about me and praise me, people talk about my good works, they tell Mr A has done this for me.
Dr- That means you want people to know you? Will you please elaborate?
Mr A-Yes, I want to be an icon in society. I always dream that a day will come, when anyone in trouble in my area will first approach me for help. I will be recognized as a good person.
Corresponding rubric-Social position concerned about
Analysis: This individual wants to be recognized by others; he wants a special position in society.

Patient’s version-12:
Patient’s husband-
She always wants things to be done in her way.
For example, with my calculations I know one work can be done better in this way. But she will ask me to do it in another way, though I know it will not work. And finally, if I ignore her and obey myself, she will go off on me or go into a sulk.
Analysis:
Corresponding rubric-Dictatorial, dominating

Patient’s version-13:
Dr-Now tell me, what is the aim of your life?
Patient- I want to be an IPS or IAS or get a position like this.
Dr-Why? There are many other professions. Why do you choose this one?
Patient-Because I love their dress up, get up and you know, their attitude, that’s great.
Dr-Please elaborate. I didn’t get what you want to say.
Patient-Sir, actually I love the way they get respect from people.
Dr-Then there are many other respectable jobs like doctor, teacher, professor where you can get enough respect from people, patients or students. You can choose from any one of them.
Patient- Sir, you are not getting what I am trying to say. As you told me, in these posts also respect is there. I agree with you. But that weight, that personality or power is not there….. Do you understand what I am trying to say? I mean.., I will implement rules and regulations and others will obey, can you imagine.
Dr-You mean people have to obey you or otherwise you can take action against them. Isn’t it?
Patient-Yes... But exactly it is not like this. Actually, by this I can give justice to others, I can fight for their rights.
Corresponding rubric-Power, love of
Moreover, if anyone has a strong fascination for administrative positions, the rubric “Power, love of” should first come to our mind.
Here we should note one important point-It is not easy to elicit the negative or blameworthy characters of patients. Either they will hide such characters from us or will express them in a well-decorated form so that it would seem praiseworthy. The physician should use his tact and ask cross-questions to get their true inner feeling of them; however, their dignity should not be hurt in this process.
