RV Frame Repair: From Cracks to Reinforcement

While completing a wheel bearing pack service we located two cracked on this Lippert Components (LCI) frame! This is just another reason to keep up on your routine maintenance. Small cracks like this can lead to catastrophe later. This video captures our repairs. We want to thank the customer service department at Lippert Components for approving the repairs. The customer is very happy and back on the road traveling safely. Additionally, the consumer opted to upgrade their suspension to the Roadmaster Comfort Ride.

I see this 5'er is sporting the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system. Your shop installed this system on my Reflection last month. We are super happy with this upgrade.

The spring shackles on my 2022 GD 22MLE have two holes in each she ole and the springs are at the closest hole to the ground. It appears that during tight radius turns, backing up for going forward would put a lot of stress on these shackles. I have wondered about lowering them to the other holes. Likely a 3 I ch difference,

That extra bracing should be put on there when the frame is built

Great repair video! Is there a reason you didn't use the Lippert Center Point Air Ride System? Do you have any thoughts on the Center Point Air Ride System? Thanks.

Hey guys, I'm a beginner welder and was just wondering what process you use when making these repairs? Is it flux core or shielded with gas? If shielded, which gas? and what diameter wire is used? I'd really appreciate the insight, thanks

Does Lippert say anything about warranty issues with the Roadmaster system?

Did you install the tube steel braces in all three leaf spring hanger locations or just at the rear hanger?

Lippert is drawing some flack over this broken frame issue because it seems to be more widespread.

retired truck & equipment design and build. Im not exaggerating, thats a motorcycle trailer frame.
Its Not if its gonna BREAK, (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞ 𝓘𝓣𝓼 𝓦𝓗𝓔𝓝 is it gonna BREAK.
All you gotta do is go crawl under a Hot Shot truck (1 ton RAM) and go look at the trailer
frame. million miles minus tires bushing and shocks n mud flaps.
Ponder this: Hot Shot trailer hauls bout the wgt of one of those 5th wheel RVs loaded
for million miles but I doubt the driver would put that RV on his trailer due to (to bulky).
Hot Shot driver would want lots of insurance to Haul a RV like air plane parts- wind turbine props,
Carring air plane with different fuels, just a disaster waiting.

A chinese metal tube frame would be stronger that chinese sheet metal bend frame
