Southampton is a port city in Hampshire, England. It is located approximately 80 miles (130 km) southwest of London, 20 miles (32 km) west of Portsmouth, and 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Salisbury. Southampton had a population of 253,651 at the 2011 census, making it one of the most populous cities in southern England.

I'm not a native of Southampton, have been here since Nov 99. We have parks in city centre, the common Mayflower Park and some nice walks if you like that sort of thing; Winchester via the Itchen Way, Romsey via Test Way. There's also Royal Victoria Country Park and the New Forest is right on our doorstep. I don't live in the most salubrious of areas but the nice parts are easily accessible.
