I believe that most AI scientists agree that the best results come from AI and human operator working together - and here is a perfect example of it. The goal is to leave easier and more repetive task to AI, so human could focus on more important / creative ones. Thus, on one hand we may assume that human will be inevitable part of this pair programming, on the other I am a littble bit affraid about my 9-5 job full of CRUDs...

This is incredible and terrifying at the same time. I always thought the idea that AI would be able to write legitimate code with a simple prompt like this was still far-fetched and decades away.

AI and automation will take away the work of most professions, perhaps there will actually be a guaranteed income, but we will not spend our free time on entertainment. We will be doomed to study for many years to reach the minimum threshold of entry into the chosen profession, to be able to interact with AI and automation. Of course, a similar fate awaits programmers, soon the future junior will be the current senior. People with jobs, especially programmers, will become elitist. Interesting times await us.
