A Brand Dropped Me Because I'm Gay.

Soo I tried to put this into a Youtube Short but I ultimately just had so much to say that I got on youtube and decided to talk it out with all of you. I recently had a brand tell me they no longer want to work with me, explicitly because I am LGBTQ+ and pose a risk. This is super sad and scary as a Queer Creator that's been online for 10 years. I've made LGBTQ+ content for 6 years.

support me on my other platforms for clear skin:

WATCH MORE OF MY MUSIC VIDEOS thank u :’)

If you’re reading this comment, "JESSIE SUPPORT GROUP YOU ARE SUMMONED" awe thanks guys

that's literally discrimination because of your sexuality!! ITS NOT JUST A "FREE MARKET". You don't need to work with those people anyway. I'm sorry Jessie.

I'm an average consumer and I'd refer to not do business with a company that won't work with an LGBTQ personality. If I knew what brand I would not buy.

These brands gotta be exposed and name dropped

Reminds me of a post I saw. When brands like target start dropping pride merch, a lot of people in the queer community say stuff like “well why would I care, yada yada, rainbow capitalism, yada yada”. And I AGREE, companies that “celebrate” pride while they’re donating thousands to homophobic organizations suck. But that’s not the point— if THEY are shifting( then the population is shifting. Something something canary in the coal mine

I am an over fifty-year-old straight guy and if I knew what brand this is I would gladly boycott them. If some of the hateful far-right creators get all the brand deals and even the people who are out to scam people get deals this is shocking. I wish I could just give you a hug. I just hope LGBTA+ rights don't suffer under the U.S.'s new leadership.

You’ve BEEN an LGBTQ+ influencer almost as long as you’ve been an influencer
Why are they just now pulling out?

I wish she had named them, so that those of us who don't want to support bigotry could avoid the brand.

Jessie right now is the time to keep making LGBTQ+ content. People need a safe space. Don’t stop what you’re doing.

Please don’t stop or even consider stop making lgbtq content. We can’t afford that. We need content like this out there in the world to push for visibility and therefore push us to get our rights and acceptance.

LGBTQA+ individuals have to understand that most "allies" with actual power (politicians, major corporations, the media) are largely fair weather friends. We need to hold ourselves up, because when shit hits the fan, we're largely on our own.

ETA: we've made it through things before. We'll survive again. Through organizing, found family, and fighting, we will overcome.

Time to actively seek out brands that support us.
If you can’t openly support us, we can’t support you at all.
Sorry, not sorry.

It is starting. Be careful all my American friends if they’re this bold now just wait and see how bad it gets. Don’t forget your loved and supported by your over sea member of the LGBTQIA+

Name drop the company. They can’t claim defamation because you have the emails to prove it. They can try to sue you, have the suit dismissed and you can then sue them for suing you. It’s called a SLAPP suit when you sue them for filing a defamation suit frivolously, which is what those emails prove.

This is scary! Twitch has changed rules around LGBTQIA+ recently too. Super suspicious since it’s right after the election… Don’t lose hope Jesse. You are an inspiration for so many. 🏳️‍🌈

As a lesbian who just discovered you recently, and you being unapologetically queer has been what drew me to your channel. The fact that our very existence is considered controversial is insane.

Absolutely here for being even more gay out of spite! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

I don’t understand why a company would be like “oh I’m gonna work with Jessie!” And then “oh she’s gay no one likes gay people I’m gonna drop it” like wtf??? Definitely not okay. I also agree with what you said about it not being a coincidence with the timing, it’s definitely partly because they know they’d be fine doing it with trump and everything. Honestly I wish I could move out of america, and I’d take everyone here with me. And I also agree that you should definitely be extra queer! Especially since trump, and everything like that. We need someone to stand up for our rights!
