That importance of that tiny detail about the relative adverb modifying the verb that follows it in the relative clause that modifies the preceding noun is woefully understated!

This detail becomes important later in the course when you cover clauses and want to understand them better. Why does “where”, which appears to modify “cave”, get called an adverb? Well, that’s total confusion! Like he says, where is modifying grew up and the entire (relative) phrase “where I grew up” is modifying “cave”. It’s like a separate cell connected with the permeable membrane of “where”.

Listen up and remember this detail if you want to understand!

If I were to analyse those clauses which are introduced by the relative adverbs, How should I label them?

As Relative Clauses?
or
As Adverbial Clauses of Time/place/Reason respectively?

I really enjoyed the video!
