Welcome to 'Back to the Texts Themselves,' a series on phenomenology. Today I examine sections 43 and 44 of Martin Heidegger's Being & Time.

In this video, I address the following questions:
1) What is the problem of reality?
2) What is the correspondence theory of truth?
3) How are the traditional philosophical responses to reality and truth
problematic for Heidegger?

I like that you mentioned the schemata. These presentations are rarely talked about but l think they are very important. Also, Kant refers to time in the synthetic principles (B262) as the sum of all existence (coincidentally here Kant uses the term Dasein for existence, kind of funny). But here Kant erroneously, l think, describes simultaneity as a mode time. I mention these thoughts because l think Kant might agree in a certain way with that time is the horizon of being because of only time can schematize the categories to produce experience.

I had the exact same thoughts concerning the film, although my hold on existentialist philosophy was tenuous at that time.
