2024. vs 2025 BMW M3: Top 5 Differences You Need to Know!

BMW has unveiled the details of the 2025 BMW M3 Sedan, marking significant enhancements over the 2024 model. This isn't just a minor facelift; the 2025 M3 comes with notable improvements in power, design, interior features, and technology. Let's dive into the five main differences that set the 2025 M3 apart from its predecessor.

1. Enhanced Power for the M3 Competition with AWD

The 2025 M3 Competition with M xDrive all-wheel drive gets a power boost. While the S58B30T0 twin-turbocharged inline-six engine remains

mostly unchanged, the M3 Competition model now delivers an extra 20 horsepower, bringing more thrill to your drive. The peak torque of 479 lb-ft is now sustained up to 5,730 rpm in the AWD version, compared to 5,500 rpm in the RWD model. This means a more prolonged and exhilarating power delivery for the keen driver. The M xDrive system offers multiple driving modes, including a 2WD mode for a purer driving experience.

2. Subtle Yet Noticeable Exterior Changes

BMW has refined the exterior with new LED headlights featuring combined high and low beams in a single module. The daytime running lights and turn signal indicators are redesigned, giving a fresh look to the front end. The Competition badge now sports a silver border, and there are new forged M alloy wheels on the options list. While these changes are not drastic, they enhance the car's aesthetic appeal without compromising its iconic design.

3. A New Steering Wheel

Inside, the 2025 M3 features a new three-spoke steering wheel with multifunction buttons and a red 12 o'clock marker. This upgrade enhances driver interaction and control. An Alcantara-rimmed version is available as part of the Carbon Package, which also includes carbon ceramic brakes, carbon bucket seats, and additional performance features. This package, while pricey, elevates the M3’s driving experience.

4. Advanced Infotainment System

The 2025 M3 is equipped with BMW’s Curved Display and Operating System 8.5, combining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch touchscreen. This system simplifies controls, allowing climate, seat heating, and steering wheel heating adjustments via touchscreen or voice command. The intuitive voice control, first seen in the 7 Series, makes navigation and control effortless. A head-up display is optional, projecting critical information directly into the driver’s line of sight.

5. Unchanged Pricing

Despite these upgrades, the 2025 M3 retains the same price as the 2024 model. The base model with a six-speed manual starts at $76,000, while the M3 Competition, with or without M xDrive, also remains priced the same. Production will continue at the BMW Group Plant in Munich, with global availability starting in July 2024.

These enhancements make the 2025 BMW M3 a compelling choice for enthusiasts and new buyers alike, combining performance, luxury, and cutting-edge technology without an increased cost.
