"She smiled the kinda smile that builds a fire in the dark" my favorite lyric

I love the subtle colors in Donald's hair and the little smiles Shayfer has while he's playing. Really adds to the depth of the video.

Found Shayfer James on Pandora... the station has remained my most listened to station for months now. I'm honestly really saddened by how underrated this channel is. Such uniqueness truly deserves much more love than this.

This song makes me feel so much. Sorrow, hope, bitterness, love, content, and mournful recollection. Its so god damn good it makes me cry.

This song hit me hard. More people deserve to hear this. There is no lyrics video, no sheet music. Something about it seems lost. Special and lost. Well even if more people don’t get to hear it, at least I’m one of the lucky ones.

This is the saddest song I've heard with major chords and I love Tom Waits...

i saw shayfer james in atlanta the other night and i'd never heard this song before. when he played it i started to tear up. the passage of time can be jarring, especially when we want to spend that time with the people we love

Goddamn I love a song with simple chords and deep emotions. Hits you straight in the soul. Beautiful.

My great grandmother passed away earlier this week. But because of covid, we could only have about 10 people at the funeral. She lived in a town so small that most others in the same state had never heard of it. She was one of the kindest, most beautiful people i've ever met. She was odd, but nobody minded that. She deserves so much more than what she got, so we're going to do a proper funeral for her once covid is over. When we got in the car after the 12 minute service, I immediately listened to this song. I had heard it a couple days before, and found your music a couple weeks before. I was quietly sobbing. I didn't care what any of my cousins though, I just needed to cry. I've had a lot of stress built up over the past few months, and I just let it all out. What kept me crying was the line 'and she found me 20 years ago outside my fathers church' the thing I always remembered her by was the church not even a minute away from her house. She had a family there, and welcomed all of us into it. Although I wish I could see her again, I'm glad she got to live the long, loving, and faithful life that she did. She is my role model.

Thank you, Mr. James for letting me let everything built up over the last few months out. She lived to be 101. God showed me your music at just the right music, He gave you some true talent.

This is the first time I have ever cried for myself and not due to pure stress since I lost my pet cat. I know pets don’t seem like much, but she was special. Thank you for finally letting me experience the emotions I’ve bottled up for years. I’m going to go hug someone now.

Man... maybe it's just because I'm sick, but this and Every Fallen Feather are bringing tears to my eyes. I can't think of the last song that nearly made me cry on its own

to who it may concern, yes, its the same old man from the filthy habit music video, it took me more time than i can be proud of, but the important thing here is that many of us has seen him dancing with little clothing

Each song is an entirely different genre it feels like? Its so... Strange and cool.

Without fail, this song will always make me cry. Pretty yet dark. The imagery reminds me of where I've spent nearly my whole life, and my younger years. The way time is described reminds me of the feeling of age and youth. It somehow perfectly encapsulates the feeling of hopelessness and regret I've felt many times before. Thank you so very much for this song, I may not have made it as far as I have without it.

Very late to commenting this but I'm absolutely in awe with everything in the video between the beautiful music and the message and the video itself, but what caught my eye the most was the flowers used for the bouquet and more specifically the meanings behind them. It beautifully ties everything together, you truly do not miss a single detail.

Songs don’t usually make me cry but this one is different. I don’t even know how to explain.

I wish i was good with music. Though i am happy to just be good with paint and pencil. Great music. I was told this song didn't have sad lyrics because its call "mostly major cords". Keep up the good work. I loved counter fit arcade. One of my favorite albums.
