Σπήλαιο Μελισσάνης - Melissani cave | 4K Drone Footage

ΕΛ: Το βαραθρώδες λιμνοσπήλαιο της Μελισσάνης βρίσκεται σε απόσταση 2 χιλ. βορειοδυτικά της Σάμης στην Κεφαλονιά. Η φυσική είσοδος του σπηλαίου είναι κατακόρυφη διαστάσεων 40 x 50 μ. και δημιουργήθηκε από την πτώση ενός τμήματος της οροφής. Τεχνητή είσοδος με σκαλοπάτια και μακρύς υπόγειος διάδρομος επιτρέπει την επίσκεψη στο σπήλαιο. Η λίμνη βρίσκεται 20 μ. κάτω από την επιφάνεια του εδάφους και το βάθος των νερών της κυμαίνεται από 10 μ. έως 30 μ. Σταλακτίτες με περίεργα σχήματα στολίζουν το μεγαλύτερο τμήμα του σπηλαίου.

The Cave of Melissani in Kefalonia: Situated just outside Sami, the Cave of Melissani has a strange appeal. It is one of the most significant places for tourists to visit in Greece. Surprisingly, there is a lake inside the cave that has trees and forests surrounding it. The cave itself is B-shaped with two chambers or halls separated with land or an island in the center. The roof of one of the halls caved in centuries ago letting sunlight filter in. The depth of the lake is 20 to 30 meters. When the sun is right overhead at noon, the sunlight hitting the turquoise-blue waters create a magical illusion and the whole Cave of Melissani suddenly feels lit with blue light.

It would have been nice if you could take the drone down in the cave. At least while your drone is still able to ascend without hitting anything. That way if you lost signal, the RTH would not cause the drone to hit the cave roofline. Nice footage.
