I’ve lived in both Switzerland n Singapore and I would say Switzerland is actually much more strict. There’s a youtube documentary out called Switzerland’s Strict Society and yeah, it is really accurate.

Reason why singapore is safe is because of it's prosperous economy. Not because of harsh penal laws.
Better Socio-economic conditions have proven to reduce crime rate and harsher punishments have been shown to do little to nothing when it comes to reducing crimes. Yeah, I'm glad other countries aren't more harsh with punishments.
