I am getting back into DJ'ing. Invested in the Pioneer FLX10. My immediate goto was just buy a 15" touchscreen secondary monitor. I might get a 3rd in a 12" stretched form-factor for the decks, with Rekordbox's "Split-Screen" function. We live in the future. I understand why people are going the standalone route, but it's so much fun figuring the fuck out!

for less than half the price of this setup you can just get a prime 4 and call it a day. Plus now you get built in light controls as well since the new Engine DJ 2.0 update, so no need for that DMX controller either. Plus beatport source, soundcloud go, tidal etc all built

How well does it load an external usb. I’d like to have friends round to mix but sometimes I find laptops can become really slow when plugging another usb in

have similar setup on SRT but with hp spectre 15 inch and run wth higher scale to make everything a bit bigger.
thought about 3d printing a bracket to make everything flush but for that i think i'd have to downgrade to smaller screen to make it less unwieldy.

Hey did you have any trouble when you switched to touch mode…. I wanted to do the same thing with Serato but when I put it in touch mode I could not use any function on it?

Touch screen is cool but the rest is like having a laptop on a laptop stand behind. It still takes up a lot of space behind.

Great video. And I get what it is your accomplishing here. But. I wouldn’t call this a “Standalone”. Because the benefit of a “Standalone” is that you having less equipment to worry about failing or crashing. With a true standalone the laptop is optional. This setup you are presenting cannot be utilized without a laptop.
