Europe - a continent where different cultures, languages and ideas meet. Europe is losing more and more influence on the world stage and other states are taking its place. To counteract this and ensure peace in Europe for all time, the European Union was founded. By uniting 27 member states, Europe's international voice grew again and together the states could be more powerful. But what if the states were to make the final decision to unite Europe completely? What if the EU went from being a union of different states to a single country, the United States of Europe?

It would never work for Europe. It's human nature to think that I can do better than my neighbors. Brexit is the perfect example. It works in United States of America because they started from the beginning, from scratch.

I dont think it would work without a severe existential threat. I wish it would. Even if the US and Europe didn't agree on everything. Our fundamental values are the same or similar. That would be great for the ideas of freedom of speech, free(ish) markets, and the fundamental right of human beings to be treated as a human. No one or country is perfect but our two countries could strive to raise the bar for all people in the world.
