I've tried to get into the animation industry (not including photorealistic gaming btw) for 5 yrs now. I'm just never seen among the sea of talent, in an industry with far to few jobs.

I have been wanting to get into animation since I was a kid and I realized since I don't have the funds for art school how am I supposed to break in? I never considered becoming a PA as an option! Thanks man!

Is it possible to get a job as a PA, even if you don’t have an animation degree, assuming your self-made portfolio is good enough? I understand it may be more challenging, but definitely less expensive than going to animation school!

just be humble to your workmate and boss and learn by observing and follow their instructions, and someday if they see you that youre dedicated in this job maybe they will promote you as a staff job.

Do you have skill/program you raccomand to learn to get a PA position? (Or in general something that looks really good on your resume that could get you a PA position)

2:00 not how it works. Best to just apply for the position. They want PAs to stay PAs. Like game artists. You don't go from QC to Game Artist. You gotta apply for the art position from day one.

1:40 if you come in as a PA you won't progress to Storyboard Artist until you quit and reapply.

It's quite easy to get a job in animation with a strong reel.

0:45 this is a big misconception. I got my first job working with Michael Bay and Spielberg after being laid off from being a Warehouse supervisor. I even lived in a different country. Let your work do the talking.
