The question is not when the interest rate are coming down .the question is when home prices are coming down .home prices in Ontario and Canada are over over valued.

Canada needs a new governor for the BOC. The incompetence and bafoonery is out of this world. If inflation dips from 3 percent to 2.8 in Feb then that's time to lower the rate drastically and study it's effects. Instead they are waiting for something negative to happen to justify not lowering rate.

Why tf did you keep interest rates low for so long to create this mess?

Same guy who was saying go ahead and buy new homes and businesses. Interest rate would stay low for long long time. He should have quit after that blunder.

“Shelter price inflation remains the largest contributor to core inflation”. No kidding genius - your own policy is increasing costs because of how leveraged everyone is due to your prior incompetence.

Why not tell the thruth. Our decision on interest rates is pegged with USA federal reserve rates. If they move, we move. If not, the CDN currency would be automatically devalued.

I wish the suits who made these decisions only made 40 grand a year. Then maybe they'd think long and hard before making the little guy suffer the most when they make these rate decisions.

Please drop the rates because of the 5% higher mortgage I cannot afford. I’m losing my home mother of four. Don’t know where to go. My credit score is a mess. I was paying my mortgage for seven years because of higher interest rates, the bank is taking me to the lawyer to the court soon please bring it to the Norma

I can barely pay for fruit loops, . Let alone pay for a war, dental care, . Pharmacare, " housing plans ". (I pay their rent and my mortgage).

We should nationalize Bank of Canada and abolish central banking.

Let me simplify, the higher interest rates are leading to greater returns on the investment holdings of my wealthy friends and we want to maximize our personal benefit as much as possible before lowering rates to increase our wealth.

What's so special about the target inflation of 2%? That number is so arbitrary.

Keep The rates high!!!! Short term pain, long term gain. Think of our kids’ future when they literally will not be able to buy homes anymore.

Don't mention once what is causing this inflation, you are the bank of Canada governor and sat around talking with economist for months, and all you talk about is the ban aid you are applying to the wound, but not talk about the Reason's that created this problem.

Where's the question of why this is happening? ^^^ why not ask a simple prudent question for the Canadian public to hear, that will give insight to them as to the reason, and how to stop/prevent it from getting worse or happening
Where's the logical questions???
