Poilievre says Bank of Canada forced into 'panicked rate cut” by Trudeau economy

Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for his handling of the economy, saying the Bank of Canada was “forced into an emergency, panicked rate cut.”

The central bank on Wednesday delivered a second consecutive interest rate cut of half a percentage point but signalled that the pace of easing may slow as uncertainty builds in the Canadian economy.

In response to Poilievre, Trudeau accused the Conservative leader of “making this stuff up” and touted government programs aimed at making life more affordable for Canadians.

Inflation at supermarket is not 10%, 12% or even 14%. When I shop I'm looking at price tags of mostly, 25% inflation but also double sometimes more

As a senior, my dentist recommends some dental work, (but must first get approval from an insurance company before proceeding, under the government's dental care plan). It's not free, (only subsidized). My rent continues to go up, and the vacancy rate in Kingston, Ontario, is below 1%, . A youth shelter is being built, (which is long overdue, but at an average cost of over $700, 000 per bedroom unit), and each bedroom being claimed as a new "housing unit"! Anyone who shops for groceries knows inflation, for food, is not below 3% per year. Trudeau doesn't care!
