I was too young in 1961 to see or to understand why Paris Blues was a film noir. Expatriates, , jazz or other wise, was unreal
History not yet introduced to most of America where segregation in social justice was widely accepted.
Duke Ellington’s compositions competed and lost against Bernstein’s West Side Story.
Although the romances were in Paris, they were a preview to the pains of love in America throughout the sixties,
The tough and unsettling social choices that would proceed from the Supreme Ct rulings on segregated public education, are sweetened here with the top star Billings.

Beautiful people and the story would have been much more interesting if they had explored interracial couplings.

Jesus this is corny and 'love it. Every cliche' is here. "Eat, pray, lust, jazz, paris". Only Hollyweed could do this and it remain memorable.
