This movie (Paris Blues) deserves it's own video.
Some facts about these two:
- They stayed friends and even marched in several Civil Rights Movements in the 1960s.

- They were supposed to be love interests in this movie but of course it was the 60s so they didn't allow them to do it Paul Newman pushed for it though.

- Allegedly Paul Newman slept with Eartha Kit back in the day according to her it was a 3some with James Dean (her BFF at the time). She was quoted saying: " “That time back in my dance studio ranks as one of the most celestial experiences of my life,” she's been quoted as saying. “Those two (Newman and Dean) beauties transported me to heaven.

If you think this was something, Charleston Heston fought just as hard for black actress Rosalind Kind to be in the movie 'Omega Man' (boy did they have Chemistry too), because there was an interracial relationship and kissing but once again the studio cut out a very special part of the novel, and when I found out it broke my heart. Heston told the studio that if they didn't want Rosalind, they couldn't have him either (same thing with Leonard Nimoy-Spock and Nichelle Nichols-Uhura of StarTrek, who were supposed to have that famous kiss, but Shatner got jealous and jumped in instead). Amazing the things you learn from the past with these relationships.

I think the reason they weren’t together was due to censorship of interracial relationships on tv back then, even though it was allowed in “real life” censors wouldn’t let it happen on tv that’s why it’s just teased and hinted on the show ( well that’s my opinion)

To be honest with all of you, I always got the feeling that Ram had fallen in love with Connie (the last part of the movie with the train sequence spoke volumes if only to me), and if not for Poitier's character he very likely would have continued to pursue, and maybe even end up with her.
