canon 5d mark 2 settings and set up. Best settings canon 5d mark II, Back button focusing canon 5d mark 2, BBF

I have shot hundreds of assignments with the Canon 5d mark 2 full frame DSLR. In this video I discuss my set up and show the settings I use to get the best professional results. As always, everyone is different and so by no means do I think this is the only or the best way to set this camera up. Its just the way I have done it and always got the results I wished for. We each need to try out all the different settings for ourselves and figure out what works for us individually. Thanks for watching!. RR 2023

Wow! Your 5D Mark II is so clean. Mine is heavily used but I can still take beautiful, professional pictures with it. I love my 5D Mark II!

Good video! I still use mine all the time to shoot magazine assignments. I even bring along my 5D Classic if I'm going to need a second body and lens. Neither have ever failed me and no photo editor has ever complained about the files I provide.

I just picked one up and so happy to have found your video. What a timing. TY

I love your videos, there's something comforting, talking about old cameras. In a time when it feels like everyone wants to own the latest stuff and the art and craft of photography is fading into the background for many, your videos are decelerating the whole thing. Keep it up 👍

Got one for a steal on FB marketplace last year and absolutely love it. Even coming from something as recent as the t7i, you can see a world of difference in photo quality. I even filmed a wedding with it.

This has helped me understand my 5D ii that I have owned for about a year a lot better. Well explained thank you.

Looking at your video reinforces my thoughts about the 5D, which used to be the ultimate "multitool camera" for professionnals, and now becomes a legend we (random amateurs photographers) can afford without selling a leg 😅.

I'm very close to sell my 650D for a 5Dii.

I’ve just bought a 5D mk ii with a sigma 35mm 1.4 lens…both used and arriving next week!

Watching this because I am picking up my 12yo MkII again, to be used for macro. Appreciate the talk, will probably have to watch something about flash.

If you've got stuck or seized controls, I found using a toothbrush with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol helps. I do the same with dirty grips, ie, using the toothbrush with some water and dish soap.

Love that he changes his look for each video. He looks like a period piece actor portraying a photographer.

Roy, thank you so much for this video. It helped me get a greater understanding of that scary red menu. Lol

I have always loved photography but didn’t give it a real go until 2018. Purchased a 1955 TLR. Once I understood it, I moved into 35mm and a year ago purchased a 5D MII, by choice, because of two qualities so many photographers highlighted which were important to me: filmic quality and the “x-factor” of the out-of-the-camera Canon colors.

My favorite color film stock bounces back and fourth between Portra 160 and 400 and this camera, to me, puts out colors that are an gorgeous amalgamation of both.

Can’t tell you how many times I run photos through the Lightroom presets only to keep them in their original OOC state.

Nice to have you back Roy. Although I do not have a 5D or full frame it is interesting to see the settings you use and it is a quick blast through the menus of Canon DSLRs and think some of this may still apply to the Canon mirrorless range. Also congratulations on passing 10k + subscribers.

Thanks for the video! Because of videos like yours, I just bought a Mark II that only has 17, 000 shutter clicks for $255 USD, and it looks like brand new. I've shot a couple hundred pictures and so far I love this camera!

You made my day with my own canon 5d mark 2. I have learned a big lesson from your experience. Thank you very much Roy.
