Let's make a fake egg! 🥚🍳 #fakefood
Показать описание
No yolk, making fake food is one of my absolute favorite things. It's a perfect thing to make when you're feeling a bit fried and just want an over easy project to vibe with. 🥚🍳
How to make the wall egg :
1. Cut the base shape of an egg out of a sheet of craft foam.
2. Grab a glob of foam clay about the size of a real egg and split it in half.
3. roll 1/2 of clay into a flatish ball and squish the other half of the clay on to the craft foam, cover it fully, make the very edges a little thinner than the rest. make a divot in the middle (its easiest to smooth the clay with a wetted finger) the size of your yolk ball.
4. Plop the yolk in its divot.
5. Lightly smooth seam between the yolk and the egg white. This clay sticks to itself very well so no need to score it first.
6. Let it dry overnight.
It will shrink a bit and lose some of the fine detail as it dries.
7. Paint the yolk. I painted mine with the shown darker yolk color than did 3 thin transparent yellow coats on top.
8. Paint the edges lightly with a mid brown then go back and dry brush a deeper umber.
9. Seal the egg with Liquitex clear gloss varnish (or equivalent). Try to minimize visible brush strokes as much as possible especially on the yolk.
10. Finally sprinkle on garnish while the varnish is still wet, I used real black pepper but a light sprinkle of soil should also work.
Materials I used :
-Foam clay - Moldable Cosplay Foam Clay (White) from Calpalmy
-Fabric paint - @artezaofficial Permanent Fabric Paint
-Varnish- @liquitexofficial Professional Gloss Varnish, 237ml (8-oz)
-White craft foam sheets
-Black pepper
