A fine and decent review, thank you, and I absolutely agree on how smooth the CVT functions on this vehicle. I own a Frost White UK 2018 reg 'S-AWC Eclipse Cross 4' - one notch down from the Red Diamond top of the range unit shown here. The 1.5 turbo has some good low-down torque and is quite peppy for it's size, however, if the 'ECO Mode' button is engaged it can dull the acceleration, so that's something to check before a test drive, as it will give you an incorrect picture on normal performance. Overall, this is a very well equipped car and it provides a pleasant and relaxing experience, made even better by the efficient dual climate control, heated leather front seats, blind spot monitoring, powered wing mirrors, led running lights, self-levelling auto LED headlamps with auto high beam, auto rain sensing wiper function, 360 degree camera, front and rear fog lamps, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, forward view camera, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, autohold handbrake, forward collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control and speed limiter, 8 step paddle shifters, touch pad for the touchscreen, head-up display, smartphone connectivity using google maps with road traffic updates, and a 9 speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system - though it doesn't have a volume knob. 'No volume knob!' came the critic's cry, and this has received a lot of reaction from reviewers and comments alike, but the steering wheel has a multi-selector for this purpose, plus swiping the touchpad up and down with two fingers replicates the command, and there are icons on the touchscreen providing this function as well. The dual sunroof is a smart idea as it provides an option for the rear passengers to have independent control by electronically closing their own blind, though I do wish Mitsubishi had included rear air vents in the cabin for more climate control comfort, and, but not crucially, an electric tailgate. The hood is quite heavy and would have benefitted from two gas struts when it comes to checking the oil, wash fluid etc, but this is only a minor quibble really. I think Mitsubishi have upped their game with the sporty styling, albeit the rear light bar is a subjective like-it-or-loath-it split screen design that divides opinion as well as the glass. It's already been used by Honda and Toyota, and dare I mention it, General Motors started the recent 'looks like a Pontiac Aztek' rant by building that vehicle back in 2001-2005. Many critics are comparing the Eclipse Cross' rear to GM's ungainly car, but I think it's a lot of unfair Mitsubishi-bashing - if it's cool for Walter White, then this should keep you cool too. I don't think it's deal-Breaking Bad at all :-)

The model in Aus has the screen sitting above the dash not built in. The built in looks much better.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has the best visibility compared to other compact SUV’s, high seating and the firm grip with S- AWC system is fantastic 🤓

I have this car but not this color which actually is nice. I don't have any regrets, and warranty is so much better than other brands here in the USA anyway. I have the base model but with awd, if only the stereo was as good as the higher trim levels I would recommend it. But they only gave me 4 speakers

So the CVT has been adjusted to simulate a 6 speed A/T? I want a CVT to feel like a CVT, smooth and quiet. I don't need to feel gears changing.

It will soon be forgotten at the back of secondhand car lots
