Sewing.
Basic sewing, just being able to fix a hole in a shirt. Its not difficult, and it spares you a lot of money

My high school had "single survival" class that taught things from how to change a tire to how the do taxes or get the help with finances. This type of class should be mandatory because of the amount of failures that are parents.

Know how to change your tire, change your oil, and do minor repairs in your car. I’ve been out on the road alone quite a bit, driving cars that weren’t too reliable, as they were what I could afford. If you’re a woman, alone on the highway, one of the most dangerous things that can happen is having your vehicle disabled.

Helpful trick I've taught myself to avoid buying things: if you can't explain to yourself why exactly you need something (aside from you just want it), then explain to yourself why you don't need the thing; it will help eliminate the "But what if..." shopping mindset

For example, I saw a really cute small backpack at a store the other day. I had enough to get it, it was my favorite color, and I really wanted it. However, I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money or not. I couldn't think of reasons to get it besides the fact that I wanted it and it was cute, but I told myself that I had a bag already, there were other useful and cuter things I could buy, and I didn't want a big logo on my bag like this one had. So, I didn't get it. Definitely try this, it's very helpful

There's no such thing as basic electrical work. It's all the same, complicated as shit, difficult as fuck and dangerous as hell

The ability to shut up.
I'm serious. I'm the youngest sibling of 4, so I'm Sweden in all of the family arguments. The amount of drama in my life caused by my brother's need to have the last word is astronomical. Just.... shut up. Don't say the thing. You can live with being quietly right. Watch the other person flounder about being wrong, it'll make you feel better.

Basic mechanic stuff. Like having a general understanding of your vehicle. To many times i needed to fix things on the fly and realize to many people in my generation would stop and leave their car just because they popped a break line pinch it off and limp yourself home or somewhere t get fixed(another reason why having vise grips handy at all times can save the day)

I learned to do everything with my left hand after I broke my right one. 35yrs later I'm still ambidextrous and use both hands to do everything even put on makeup. I was in a cast almost a year.

I'm quite happy that I've learnt most of these

I know several people have already said sewing but SERIOUSLY learn to sew! You can get sewing kits for just a few bucks and there are plenty of YouTube videos about it

Oh my god my stepdad knows one recipe and it's sausages and peppers baked in the oven, like how do you get to 60 and not know how to make rice.

Learning things with both hands is a good one

Driving, apparently. Most of my friends are very uninterested when it comes to learning to drive. Which is CRAZY considering it is so hard (in my area) to find a job close enough to walk to, or riding the bus every day.

I already do the left hand thing, I just can't perform a lot of movements, had to adapt because I can't scroll with my left
