I'm a Canadian. If I hear people sing the Canadian or American national anthem, I gotta kinda hold back tears. Both songs mean the world to me and you better damn stand up if I'm around and either one is playing.

Post 9/11 we all understood what it meant to be United as countrymen. It was the closest I felt to my fellow Americans and we were proud of who we were and what we stood for as a nation. I never want to experience a national tragedy on that scale again, but I miss the unity we all felt in the aftermath.

Never will forget fall of 98 I was in 5th grade. Our principal right before the bell rang he went on the intercom and said “boys and girls one quick announcement….SAMMY SOSA JUST HIT HIS 65TH HOME RUN AND HAS OFFICIALLY CAUGHT BIG MAC FOR THE HOME RUN CROWN!!!”

We went absolutely nuts and one hell of a way to kick off a weekend

Rockets were flying during that era. Packed stadiums. I got to watch McGwire and Bonds launch absolute nukes from the stand EVERY SINGLE game I attended. Never did get to see Sosa play, sadly. Cubs tickets were always impossible to get -- their fans show up to every stadium.
