Freesat - Subscription Free UK TV

In February 2020, Freesat launched a new 4K / UHD satellite receiver, manufactured by Arris. This is the "non recording" version, with a recording version, with 500gb, 1tb and 2tb hard drives, to be released "later".

Apart from 4K support for Netflix and Youtube, the box does seem a bit pricey compared to its predecessor manufactured by Humax. And perhaps, if you have the previous Humax Freesat HD box, then upgrading to this box may feel unnecessary.

One thing to note is the Amazon packaging the box arrived in. The external packaging was not sealed, and so the contents could have been taken by anyone along the delivery route.

Also, notice the "Z" is not printed on any button on my remote control...!

These satellite receivers are NOT Freesat Set Top Boxes, but basic “free to air” satellite receivers. That USB port will support an external hard drive, I have one in mine. Then you can record pause and rewind live TV

Purchased one from amazon this is much better than the humax box quick start up better interface and a bonus is it’s 4K with an awesome picture - plugged in to my high dynamic hdmi socket and the picture is just amazing - did not bother waiting for the recordable box as this has catch up apps so no need for a recordable box - another bonus is Netflix and you tube which also plays in 4K HDR - at first I thought the box was a bit pricey but it definitely worth the price.

I assume this box has a bluetooth remote? I want an Enigma2 dvb-s2/dvb-t2 receiver with a bluetooth remote. Most of the receivers are infrared. Which is a shame.

I've only 1 satellite cable wired to my sitting. If i brought this box would i be able to watch 1 channel while recording another or do i need 2 satellite cables wired to do that.
