Finally got to go here last night and they give you a few slices of pastrami while they make your sandwich. Any way the pastrami literally melts in your mouth. No words. It blew me away. Expensive as hell but worth it as they pack on the meat and did I mention it literally melts in your mouth! The flavors were unbelievable! They even have two security guards at the door lol I recommend you go here and walk towards the bars and clubs and get some drinks and enjoy the unique area and then grab some 99c pizza!

I enjoy listening to him speak. He's the perfect owner to a place that makes a perfect pastrami sandwich..now that the Carnegie is gone (my favorite - machine sliced). Katz's is great...Today, it's them and Harold's NY Deli in Edison, NJ as the two best.

Had my first pastrami sandwich at Katz's in 1969. I was back in NYC with my son in January and we had the iconic pastrami sandwich. There are few things I can eat now that I can say are as good as they were in Pastrami on rye is on the TOP! Please don't change!

I went to Ktz's and ordered a Corned Beef sandwich from the waiter (Server). He turned towards the counter and yelled out, " Von Corned Beef, Von", then he ran behine the counter and made it.

i don't think it has to do with minerals,
i just think that the meat is prepared by passionate, talented and skilled people and that's the secret to the flavour

Just been there last week after dreaming for years to try their pastrami sandwich as I live in Uk. Sadly the bread tasted very old...pity as the rest was really nice. For $22 I would expect a fresh loaf, not a big asking..
(I was there at 4pm, not as early bird with the risk of being given yesterday left over bread)

Ah, so the black on the outside is the rub, the spices, which give the pastrami that incredible taste, huh?  Then why do we see the carver knock half a pound of pastrami with that tasty rub onto the floor when he's carving it? 1:31

Best meat I have tasted in all my life. Better than any bone-in, tomahawk rib-eye.

If it's steamed at the end, why is the pastrami so dry when you get your sandwich? Mine was terrible.

OMG... this makes me yearn so much to be in NYC and taste real food again. Living in Pennsylvania's heartland, there's what they call chicken pot pie here, which is a sloppy, bland noodle mess in a cup, with some bits of chicken floating in there... not even CRUST as in a real pot pie. BLECCCHHHH... I want real pastrami and corned beef!!!
