It's curious, the thing that cuts through the haze of grief Hollowstar feels clinging to his mind: there's a loner lurking around their territory, a white she-cat that almost disappears in the snowy landscape. He cannot help but worry that she won't survive the cold wasteland on her own like that.

And so he helps, when he can. (Wishful wonders at the cat who seems to not mind to leave her his prey, even if she never dares to approach him.)

When many moons, and another tragedy later, they lock eyes for the first time, Hollowstar feels as though he should recognize her. A dream inside a dream. Something he doesn't remember.
