No point in upgrading the window frame past stone because it's the same raid cost as the window itself. Can't wait for your new builds with the changes MGE!

Window frames aren't necessarily upgraded to metal because of the raid cost of the glass window. It's an overkill, since the window itself, costs just as much as the stone wall.

been using this one for a while, works out great every time if you have a compound or a base that won't naturally accommodate a refinery room inside.

You could try building this with high foundations allowing you to put a floor tile above the refinery allowing room for more doors and boxes

nice video! If you're going to add an armored door, I'd probably also upgrade the entire roof to sheet, since it's a cheap upgrade (and would put all raid paths at a similar cost).

I like to build this into my base. Instead doors I use two half wall, remove the first half wall and replace it with low wall. You still able to reach te refinery. So, if someone trying to raid that refinery room from outside can function as honeycomb.

What I've done in the past is make one of these 3 high and put embrasures on the 3rd floor and if you have a ladder hatch as well you can reach it by jumping on the refinery. Makes for a great multi purpose flank tower.

always upgrade the window to metal because:
1. It is cheaper to blow the stone wall when using explosive ammo or satchel charges
2. when it is only stone the can blow the wall instead of window which makes it easier for them to move through your base, and makes it harder to seal the breach in an online raid

A stone wall is the same cost, normally you would upgrade it if you wanted it to survive slash damage, but when I comes to the tc, I find that there is no point because by the time they have tc there is almost no point in it needing to survive splash damage. That’s why you don’t upgrade the window

what about if you put the metal window bars on? Or even worse, the armored window bar, on a sheet wall?

The window frame doesn’t need to be upgraded past stone because reinforced windows take 4 rockets or 2 c4 as do stone walls

You can leave two triangle foundations exposed, 1x1 is enough. Probably you'll need to make them metal to prevent picking but I personally don't care about that, I even used wood a few times assuming people will see the bottom of refinery and won't raid it at all
