High Value Secondary VA Claims that WILL Increase Your VA Disability Rating!

One of the best ways to maximize your VA disability rating is filing secondary VA claims. This means that if you have a disability related to one condition, you should apply for additional benefits based on the effects of another condition. For example, if you had tinnitus due to military service and this caused chronic depression, then filing a secondary claim for the depression would be beneficial.

In some cases, veterans may not realize that they are eligible for additional benefits and may not receive the full compensation they deserve. It is important to thoroughly research your condition and potential secondary claims so you don't get cheated out of what you are due.

For veterans with existing disabilities, applying for a secondary service connection can increase the amount of their VA disability rating. A higher disability rating can provide veterans with additional benefits such

as increased VA compensation payments and access to more specialized medical care.
By gathering the necessary medical evidence and taking the time to fully understand what goes into your VA disability rating, you can increase your chances of a successful claim.

Here are some tips to help you maximize your VA disability rating:

Make sure that all relevant medical records from both military and civilian sources have been submitted along with your VA claim.

Ask your doctor to provide evidence of a nexus, or connection between the current disability and service-related events or training.

Talk to other veterans who have filed a VA claim to learn about their experience.

Request that your doctor provides detailed medical opinions that are specific and consistent with the VA’s standards for evaluating disabilities.

Request an updated medical examination to determine the current severity of your disability.

Become familiar with VA regulations and how a secondary service connection can benefit you.

By following these tips, you can ensure that you have the best chance of maximizing your VA disability rating. When it comes to filing a successful VA claim and receiving appropriate compensation for your disabilities, preparation is key. Taking the time to understand how your disability rating is calculated and putting together a thorough application package with high-quality evidence can make all the difference in winning your claim.
Good luck!

Craig, just wanted to drop a note saying thank you so much for the service you provide, Brother. a great deal of the information that you lay out in your videos got me 70% for PTSD out the gate for combat trauma 10% for tinnitus, two years ago. yesterday i was awarded 30% for asthma due to burn pit exposure, which bumped me up to 80% and TDIU, as well. while that claim was being decided i received a diagnosis for ADHD and OCD as a comorbidity to PTSD from my therapist. i’m actually about to file for those two and sleep apnea (been on a CPAP issues by the VA for a year with little success) and GERD…all secondary to PTSD. obtaining the nexus letters now and am hoping that i can be bumped from 80% TDIU to 100% P&T. thank you so much again and hoping in the future that i can get VSO accreditation to help out other vets deserving of benefits and assistance. bless up!

And they love to fight the TBI claims. Claimed they didn't believe what happened to me in my records. Some of these CP examiners need to be fired

I am trying to identify all the secondary claims for the hysterectomy that was prematurely performed in the military. I was 21 when they did it and have a current 50% and a K award for loss of use of organ. I would appreciate a little more information about it pretty please. 😊

CC, Do I still need a Nexus letter to show your secondary is associated with an already SC illness/injury. I mean, if I already have a Rating for Tinnitus I would need another Nexus letter to say the my Migraines are affecting me due to my Tinnitus??

I went to a C&P exam for hypertension ...secondary to PTSD.
The lady said she would give the information to the VA...that afternoon.
Picked up my mail that afternoon....
Got a decision letter from the VA
In my mailbox.
They gave me 0%.
They made the decision...
before i had the exam!
Why even have the exam?

Got my decision back today. Was at 40%, got raised to 80% by adding 50% MH and 30% vertigo secondary to tinnitus. Getting the vertigo rating honestly surprised me. Still waiting on the outcome of the supplemental claim for migraines secondary to tinnitus.
