Thank you for mining the riches from this Godly prayer, Brother Bagwell. And as you said in the previous lesson, it's a fine example of how we should pray. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you and Debbie!

Watched, learned and enjoyed! Thankful for the Bible and how it tells me how I should live and what a Holy God expects. Sometimes in my line of work I have to work on Sundays, like today, but I always try to bring my lunch and not eat out on Sundays because I don't want to be an excuse for someone else not to be able to go to church. Someone told me they are going to work whether you eat there or not, but I try not to be a part of the reason they have to work.

"The Lord is my strength and my song!" AMEN! I too sing because I've been redeemed! Thanks for another great message!
BTW, my solo went very well yesterday, praise God! And on my way to church it rained, and then there was a double rainbow! I took that as another sign! God is so good!
Thanks for your faithfulness in giving us the Word. I look forward to every lesson!

Amen, Amen, Preacher....Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. History, Jesus Christ, the telling of His life. Changed my life, (2Cor5:17). Thank you Preacher for The Word of God. Keep up the labour of love....

As we study Israel’s history in this lesson, about how God provided, protected, and miraculously delivered them from the Egyptians, it’s amazing. The people were an eyewitness to the miracles of God. Then as I thought about myself, I have never seen God perform miracles like these, but I wonder how many times He has protected me and I didn’t even realize it. I have seen Him provide for us plenty of times when there seemed no way. And I know He has miraculously delivered us from situations that would have caused us harm. God is so faithful, and true, and never breaks a promise. He does all things well!

I enjoyed this lesson! Thanks for explaining Shekinah Glory. I have heard chuck missler mention it a lot. I think of a rainbow being a good example that we can see. I also like the thoughts about the pillar of fire being warm in a cold desert. I've been in cold deserts, a pillar of fire would be comforting.

And finally for the explanation of the law to civil, moral, and ceremonial. A good breakdown.

Outstanding study, Dr. Bagwell! This is a prayer in these verses that celebrates God's goodness and guidance. It incorporates confession of sin and is one of the most balanced prayers in the Bible. It is also the longest recorded prayer in Scripture as well. "Thou" is speaking to the Lord God Almighty. God split the Red Sea before the Jews, and they went through on dry land. "Persecutors" are those chasing them seeking to do them harm. "Deeps" would be the bottom. This celebrates one of the greatest miracles in Israel's history. The parting of the Red Sea is mentioned again and again. See Ex. 14:13 & 21. Had it not been for the Lord, Pharaoh and his army would have decimated Israel. As they crossed the dry ground and came up on the other side, they sang a song unto the Lord. That was the first song recorded in the Bible. There are Old Testament quotations and Old Testament allusions. A quotation is stated word by word. An allusion is mentioning an event without discussing it at length in order to suggest or draw attention to it. "Allusion" is Latin, and it means to "play with, toy with an event, to suggest it, insinuate it without directly quoting it". Why would God deliver Israel? Because Israel is to God the apple of His eye. Deut. 32:10, Lam. 2:18, Zech. 2:8. Israel is the favorite of the Lord, the chosen of the Lord. "Apple" means "the little man in your eye". God is standing so close to Israel that you can see the Jew in His eye. The reflection is there. God wants to be that close to Israel. "Leddest" six times is translated "to guide" and once "to govern". God guided Israel. See Exodus 14:19. "Angel of the Lord" is normally a reference to the Lord Jesus Christ in a pre-incarnate appearing. That cloud was the Shekina Glory cloud of Almighty God. This is a visible manifestation of the presence of our great mighty God. This is God's power dwelling with the children of Israel. When God's presence is localized and made visible. See Exodus 13:21. That fire could have warmed them at night as well. The Word of God is full of right judgments and true laws. "Statutes" is a synonym for God's law. It means "to cut into". From the time the Red Sea was split, it was about 45 days when they made it to Mt. Sinai. See Exodus 19:16. See Exodus 33:11. See Ex. 31:18. God wrote the tables of testimony with His own finger. God is giving them the law in verse 14. The law of God can be categorized in three words: the moral law, the civil law and the ceremonial law. See Deut. 19:15. This showed their court proceedings, civil law. See Exodus 12:5. This shows the Passover Lamb, this is the ceremonial law. The Jews are notorious for violating the Sabbath. They make it a day of commerce. This is the first day of the week for us Christians because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It seems the church started worshipping on the first day of the week (1 Cor. 16:1). The Old Testament has a lot of history. All the books of Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther etc. The New Testament has history. Matthew, Mark, Luke & John are history of our Saviour. Acts is the history of the New Testament church. Great study, Dr. Bagwell! Thank you so much for these studies!
