This hymn speaks as perfect as a hymn can be to the cry of every human heart to find forgiveness from his sins and be forgiven by a Father in Heaven. Through Jesus Christ, every person can find forgiveness from his sins and repent of his sins and find the joy of forgiveness and cleanliness before the Lord once again.

My son was reassigned to the Tempe AZ mission. 9 months later he had to return home due to a very serious illness. He’s healing now and I have to say that your beautiful angelic voices are soothing and healing for he and I. Thank you ❤️

This hymn from the heart has new meaning to me. I've been an unrepentant sinner my whole life and am in the process of repenting now and have never felt so much sorrow as I do now. I've hurt so many people and feel I'm in such desperation for mercy there is honestly not a single word in this hymn that I do not relate too. It's like reading the book of Psalms. It is perfect for a repenting sinner, as too are many other hymns such as my other favorites, O Come, O Come, Immanuel as well as Jesu, the Very Thought is Sweet. I have a love for Jesus Christ that I've never experienced before. It makes me really want to learn more about Him and to follow Him in every Way.

I usually have to hear a hymn a few times to get attached to it. The first time I heard this hymn was when I attended Conference many years ago. I loved this from the first I heard it. It is such a powerful song.

This music, especially the words, bring me closer to heaven and God. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is one of the jewels of the church. The singers members sing with love and devotion, living the words, I can see by their faces. Whoever understands the words will make them a daily supplication.
