I was planning to install an octagon-dot mosaic (2" octagons & 1" dots) over ditra in our bathroom but then saw their requirement of a minimum 2"x2" tile, when you guys are installing small tile mosaics on a floor, what is your subfloor/underlayment of choice? Is it possible to go right over a plywood underlayment or do I need to add a CBU?

I see you have two different types/brands of membrane. Kerdi/orange and the purple on the walls...I've got the same issue, and wondering if there's and interaction/compatibility issues? I've got Mapeguard WP 200 on my walls, kerdi pan and kerdi bandfor the wall/pan seams.. please advise, please, please please 😉

Hello, long time lurker. In fact you're videos are pure gold and have helped me a ton! Question: I'm trying to install Ditra Heat over plywood. What do you recommend for a good bond? I sample tested some Ardex X 77 modified with spare plywood and waste strip of Ditra Heat and I'm finding it pulls up easily after 24 hours. Full coverage test, mixed it slightly looser, just seems like it's not grabbing the fleece well or shrinking while drying. This is supposed to be superior stuff and they're partnered with Schluter from what I understand. Almost feel like the fleece needs to be backbuttered or keyed in with Ardex... Any suggestions?

Ardex x5 grey is my thinset of choice. I asked my Schluter rep. You won't find that in their warranty though.

Is ditra good when you installing penny size tiles?

That shouldn't be the reason...its make for plywood so it wont crack
