Like Coleman, Dana Plato found fame as a child actor in the comedy of the 80s Diff'rent Strokes. From 1978 to 1986, Plato played Kimberly Drummond, the teenage daughter of a wealthy widower who adopted two African-American brothers. According to People Magazine, Plato began to abuse alcohol and Valium when he was only 14 years old.
