Like Coleman, Dana Plato found fame as a child actor in the comedy of the 80s Diff'rent Strokes. From 1978 to 1986, Plato played Kimberly Drummond, the teenage daughter of a wealthy widower who adopted two African-American brothers. According to People Magazine, Plato began to abuse alcohol and Valium when he was only 14 years old. In 1984, the series dismissed Plato after becoming pregnant, although he made several appearances in the final season 1985-1986. Despite his reputation as Diff'rent Strokes, Plato found it difficult to find quality work. In the late 80s and early 90s, posed for Playboy magazine and starred in several forgotten movies.
