Junk cars for 28 mill USD the Rudi Klein sale a quick overview of the prices

I am totally jet lagged after my trip to Denver USA - so I compiled this video of the car lots of the great Rudi Klein sale showing the prices. In total the cars showed here sold for 28.846.840 USD. I left out the motor cycles and the many spare parts that also fetched good prices as I mainly think the cars are interesting. Star of the sale was of cause the aluminium Gulwing Mercedes that alone took home 9,3 mill. I was anticipating the sale a lot as I wondered if the market could absorb such a huge amount of junk cars - but I think it was a good sign that all sold and for what I think is high prices. I wanted to bid on the Maserati Mistral but I think it was too strong money for a car needing that kind of work. It would have been cool though to own a part of the Rudi Klein collection. Some pretty good prices on the 356 bodies, they were going for more a few years back. I bet most of these cars were on a boat to Europe after the sale.

In the future when someone is trying to sell one of these cars as a Rudi Klein collection car, I can imagine what the prospective buyer is thinking and that is how much of this car is original and how much bondo does it have in it

You're basically buying a VIN tag and a title. Renewing these cars will take seriously deep pockets, or being the owner of a restoration shop.

Sometimes all you really need to buy is a VIN. Everything else is available brand new like it is with VW buses.

i hate online auctions!!! They have totally ruined the in person auction and driven prices out of control.

Did anyine else notice that the auctioneer on at least two occasions annonced 1, 000 now 1, 250 and did not even have a 1, 000 bid....
