Adult Cyberbullying

Показать описание
Cyberbullying is a huge problem in today's world. Here are some tips to help eliminate this problem, should it happen to you.
Transcript:
Online hostility and harassment, also known as cyberbullying is alive and well in social media, and is directly affecting adults. Did you know that over 25% of adult Americans have reported being a victim of online bullying, or they know someone else who was a victim?
In today’s video I’m going to show you how to educate yourself about cyberbullying in order to eliminate it.
Online harassment occurs in a variety of places online. This can include rude messages, digitally altered images, hacking a victim’s accounts, publicly sharing secrets, and cyber stalking. All of the above are considered psychological abuse. Cyberbullying can potentially be more harmful because it is not easy to escape from it. The best response is not to bite the bait that someone is trolling with. A “troll” is someone who is purposefully disrupting online communities. If they receive no reaction from the attack, then they will have to move on.
Here's what you can do:
Keep track of all the harassing incidents and document everything! “Block” the harasser on social media sites, and report the incident to your internet service provider. And finally, when in doubt, always contact law enforcement with your questions.
One of the reasons I like to bring up adult cyberbullying is because it can happen to anyone at anytime. Victims often have low self-esteem, increased suicidal ideation, and emotions ranging from fear to embarrassment, or even depression. Being informed and knowing your rights is one of the best lines of defense in extinguishing an online threat. Educate yourself to eliminate it.
